Thus Far
1997

12 November
SRN Mediaworks formed as a small audio production crew, in Brampton, Ontario. Our first transmission was at 7:33 am that day, with our flagship programme, Phil Liz and Lucy.

We first taped our flagship programme, Phil Liz and Lucy, with actual casette tape, using antiquated audio equipment. Things looked great from our first day on as we chatted up a storm and created programming that would be aired later that day.

2000

1 October
Our first station newsletter, The Post was created. Within the next year, the newsletter grew to the point where a site would be later formed to accomodate it.

2001

3 July
SRN Mediaworks finally forms an internet presence, creating a site called Woodbridge Data Cafe, which gave the station newsletter a home. The newsletter would later be shut down, but its site remained as a pinnacle of our growth. It would later become 148.ca Cafe, and still be an integral part of our organisation.

2002

15 July
SRN One's first transmission into the internet. We first broadcasted on the weekends, which then became a 24-hour schedule two years later.

2003

1 February
The first news bulletin of SRN National News was aired. A weekend bulletin would then be formed to serve our growing community.

12 March
The Afternoon Show makes its debut, as students flock home and their desktop computers to listen to the latest in popular music, including hip-hop. It would later be cancelled, but a reincarnation is in the works, The Afternoon Show with Phil and MIke, will start airing on 22nd January 2007.

2004

5 June
The first travelling segment for Phil Liz and Lucy, Move Mania, was first produced on a bus driving back from the Toronto Zoo.

3 September
SRN One expands into a 24-hour schedule, after successful listener count.

12 November
Our seventh anniversary was celebrated with the unveiling of our new (current) logo, nicknamed The Mediaworks Boxes.

2005

13 September
Three stations came together, which included SRN One, to form network1KX, sharing programming and indie playlists. The network would then expand into the eight stations it serves today.

5 November
Our audio productions went international as we visted Asia. Visiting several cities, we caught a small snapshot of our visit.

Later that November...
148.ca as a portal was formed, putting together our operations into one simple and easy to reach package.

2006

2 February
Our news and current affairs division recieves a boost with the formation of a new interview programme, Centre Street. Hosted by Michael Huynh and Phillip Hong, the programme explores the independent side of music and other issues.
