Phil, old school.

Katelyn Dawn once sang: "...and you shine, like you never left this city at all". Sadly I regret leaving my hometown, the City of Brampton, and then not coming back for around eleven years.

It might sound highly unusual for someone to be depressed over an issue like this, but I went to an elementary school that really felt like home. A place to nuture all that intelligence that you take advantage of these days without awareness.

The door to the kindergarten where I used to wait after school, creating clouds of fog before my father picked me up long after every other pupil left. The entrance to the playground where we used to be dropped off and picked up by the school bus, identified by a piece of green construction paper. The stairs to the stage that I walked up and alighted numerous times for countless concerts and the like.

These are memories that still haunt me and remind me that I am the person I am today, thanks to that close knit upbringing.

Want proof? Former students who have grown up to be successful adults still ask for their children to be taught by the teachers who taught them, if that isn't a confusing enough statement.
